Description

A hollow rectangular wooden box to which a uniform wire is attached to one end, the other end of the wire is passed over two horizontal knife edge and then over a pulley , a weight hanger is suspended from the free end of the wire , by placing different weights on the weight hanger , the tension in the wire can be suitably adjusted. It can be used in the Laboratory in demonstrating the relationship between the frequency of the sound produced by a plucked string, and the tension, length and mass per unit length of the string.
